St. John the Apostle, the “Beloved Disciple,” holds a unique place in the life of the Church. Chosen by Christ, he walked closely with the Lord, witnessed His miracles, stood at the foot of the Cross, and received Mary as his mother. Unlike the other apostles, John was not martyred by violence. Instead, he lived a long life of witness, preaching the Gospel, guiding the early Church, and writing some of the most profound words in Scripture — including the Gospel of John and the Book of Revelation. His writings reveal a deep understanding of divine love. Again and again, John reminds believers that “God is love” and that to know God is to love one another. His life shows us that intimacy with Christ transforms fear into courage and suffering into glory. St. John teaches us that faith is not only believed — it is lived, loved, and proclaimed through charity. St. John the Apostle, pray for us.
