St. John Eudes (pronounced Yood) was a French priest who lived in the 1600s and became known as the Apostle of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary. He founded seminaries to form holy priests and established religious communities devoted to deep prayer and works of charity. His mission was to bring renewal to the Church by promoting devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary — devotions that continue to inspire Catholics today.
