St. Emerentiana was a young catechumen and virgin who was martyred while praying at the tomb of St. Agnes during the Roman persecutions. Though not yet baptized, she boldly defended the Christian faith and received the baptism of blood through martyrdom. Her life shows that true faith is proven by courageous witness.
