St. Fabian was unexpectedly chosen as Pope after a sign of the Holy Spirit and went on to govern the Church with humility and wisdom during a fragile time of peace. When persecution returned, he remained faithful and gave his life for Christ. His witness reminds us that God prepares His servants long before the trial comes. St. Fabian, pray for us!
