Saint Cyril of Alexandria was one of the Church's greatest theologians and defenders of the Catholic faith. At the Council of Ephesus, he courageously defended the truth that Jesus Christ is one divine Person with two natures and that the Blessed Virgin Mary is rightly honored as the Mother of God. His unwavering defense of the Incarnation preserved one of Christianity's most essential doctrines and continues to strengthen the Church today.
