St. Cajetan

Saint Cajetan was a sixteenth-century priest, Church reformer, and founder of the Theatine Order who became known as the “Father of Providence” because of his extraordinary trust in God. After leaving behind a promising legal and ecclesiastical career, Cajetan devoted himself to the poor, the sick, and the spiritual renewal of the clergy. He founded a community of priests committed to simplicity, preaching, the sacraments, and complete dependence on Divine Providence. When his order lacked money, Cajetan refused to panic or place his trust in wealth. He believed that God would provide whatever was necessary for work truly done in His service. His life reminds us that authentic reform begins with personal holiness and confident trust in God.
