St. Faustina Kowalska
Monday, October 5, 2026
Saint Faustina Kowalska was an obscure Polish nun when Jesus entrusted her with a message that would eventually reach millions of Catholics around the world: trust in His Divine Mercy. Through a series of mystical encounters, Faustina recorded Christ's message of mercy for sinners and promoted the image of Divine Mercy, with rays flowing from the Heart of Jesus. Her spiritual diary, Divine Mercy in My Soul, became one of the most influential Catholic spiritual works of modern times. She also helped spread the Divine Mercy Chaplet, now prayed throughout the world. Faustina died at only 33, but her mission continued. Saint John Paul II canonized her in 2000 and established the Second Sunday of Easter as Divine Mercy Sunday. Saint Faustina's message can be summarized in three simple words that appear beneath the Divine Mercy image: Jesus, I trust in You. 5f6ca056-cc4d-4cc8-bdbf-4158582… Subscribe to Catholic Voices and Prayers for more powerful stories of the saints and the Catholic faith.
